Dr. Faith P. MabikiDr. Faith P. Mabiki is the Head of Department of Chemistry and Physics. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Chemistry and Microbiology, studying Environmental Science Studies as minor in 2002 at the University of Dar es salaam (UDSM) Tanzania in 2002, MRes (Master of Research in Clean Chemical Technology (Green Chemistry) degree from the University of York (UK) in March 2007 and PhD in natural products at Sokoine University Agriculture, Tanzania in 2013. She has attended several training including; training at German bio-resources center sponsored (DBFZ), by ICS UNIDO: On chemicals from bio-resources, specializing on bio-gas production from plant wastes and training in the United Kingdom and Kenya on the use of analytical instruments and techniques for natural products analysis and identification, which include HPLC and GCMS. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervising research and special projects at Sokoine University of Agriculture. She is also involved in research, outreach and consultancies. |

Prof. Clavery T. TungarazaProf. Clavery T. Tungaraza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics. He holds a BSc Chemistry with Marine Biology and oceanography-University of Dar es Salaam, MSc Applied Marine Ecology –Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and PhD in Environmental studies -–Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Dr. Emmy Solomon LemaDr. Emmy Solomon Lema is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Physics. She joined Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in 2009. Currently she is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Physics. She holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, an MSc in Environmental Sciences and a Bachelor of Education (Chemistry major) from the University of Dar es Salaam. She has attended several internship programs in Environmental Sciences at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in South Korea. Prior to joining SUA, she worked with Bonite Bottlers Ltd. as an Environmental Coordinator. As a Lecturer at SUA, She is involved in teaching chemistry and environmental science courses as well as supervision of students research projects. She is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Her areas of specialization include: Water and wastewater quality monitoring, Water and wastewater treatment and Environmental Impact Assessment. |
