Dr. Beda John Mwang’onde

(Cert. ALP, Dip. AH, BSc. Wild. Sc, & Cons., MSc. IEM, PhD)

Dr. Beda John Mwang'onde, a lecturer in Microbiology and Parasitology, is a Zoologist with research focus on Ecosystem and Population Health. Beda works at The Department of Biosciences, Sokoine University of Agriculture. Beda has broad knowledge on zoonotic diseases and environmental health. Currently, Beda's research focus is on epidemiology of human (neuro) cysticercosis aimed at safeguarding human health from the pork tapeworm larval infection, increasing household economy from piggery industry and food security in terms of pork protein. His publications have ranged from medical entomology to zoonotic cestodes. He teaches undergraduates and supervises postgraduates. Beda holds a PhD in Zoology from the University of Dar es Salaam.
